BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Calling Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics “CCP’s Genocide Games”, TaoDhamcho, Steering Committee and Board Director with International Tibet Network, further states – “The Beijing 2022 Olympics and its broadcast by NBC and other media groups will legitimize the Chinese government’s exceptionally repressive policies and atrocious human rights record”.

Karma Gelek, Advocacy Coordinator and Vice President of the local Tibetan Association of Southern California stated that ‘Genocide must be the red line. If we let China off the hook for the Uyghur genocide and its crimes against Humanity, China will become emboldened to do worse. We must condemn CCP and the Genocide Games”.

“Under President Xi Jinping, Chinese authorities have been committing mass abuses against Uyghurs, Tibetans, ethnic groups, and religious believers from all independent faith groups”, said Kevin Young, President of the Santa Barbara Friends of Tibet.
