Ambassador Jose Cabañas
Embassy of Cuba
2630 16th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20009
Dear Hon. Ambassador Cabañas
We the undersigned like to bring attention to your honor about the current arrest of Cuban artist Danilo Maldonado Machado (‘El Sexto') who is considered as a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International.
Mr. Machado has been detained without charge since his arrest on November 26, 2016. He has refused to eat the food from the prison.
Mr. Machado has been arrested before on Christmas day, 2014. He was released after ten months in detention and after his 24 days of hunger strike.
We are afraid that this time Mr. Machado will not be able to sustain a second hunger strike as his health is already weakened by his previous hunger strIke.
We ask that your government release Mr. Machado immediately.
Sincerely,
