Meet the Poets and the Artists

Our next Meet the Artists evening is on 10/29, reception for all the artists 6-9PM, poetry reading 7-8PM., Gallery H, 222 E. 34th St. (2nd-3rd Avs.)   We are broadening our definition of art to include poetry.  6 poets representing Brazil, Korea, Poland, China, New Jersey, and West 91st Street will briefly read from their works.  Many of our exhibiting artists are also attending.   RSVP:  visual.artists.guild.nyc@gmail.com


CHUNGMI KIM

CHERYL MOORE has been writing her personal, lyric poetry since 1980 dealing with feelings.  Growing up her Dad was in the Air Force and she traveled throughout Japan and Guam.

 

 
CYNTHIA NADELMAN 
ImageCynthia Nadelman is an art critic and poet who lives in New York.  She spent formative years in Poland, Germany (including West Berlin), and Liberia as a Foreign Service kid.  She will read her own poetry and selected other poets.

 

 

 


ELZBIETA SZOKA, reading poet RENATA PALLOTTINI 

ImagePallottini was born and raised in Sao Paulo, and is one of the most respected Brazilian poets, also known for her sense of social justice and commitment.

 

 

 


ImageElzbieta Szoka lives in New York and runs a small film production company Paradox Smoke Productions and co-runs a small press Host Publications Inc.

 

 

 


CATHERINE TINKER, introduction

HUANG XIANG, Xia Yang translator
ImageHuang Xiang is one of the greatest poets of 20th century China.  He spent over twelve years in Chinese prisons for writing his free-spirited poetry and his advocacy of human rights.  Known as "China's Wild Beast Poet", his poetry performances are not soon forgotten.
